Chic Wedding in the Italian Countryside

We love featuring destination weddings. There is something so romantic and magical about them, which is why we love this chic wedding in the Italian countryside. Not only is the location beautiful, but also every element of the wedding day matches its grandeur. From the bride’s lace cathedral veil to the all white courtyard reception. And for the bride and groom, it was every bit as incredible as it seems to us.

Dalia and Giuseppe chose to have an intimate country chic wedding in Puglia. Giuseppe, from Southern Italy and Dalia from the Middle East chose Italy and Puglia in particular for its rustic and natural beauty. The couple chose to have their wedding venue at Relais Masseria Montalbano: a converted XVI century village-farm, surrounded by exquisite olive groves. Masseria Montalbano is one of the oldest farms on Ostuni’s coast so the couple automatically fell in love with its historical charm.

As people who really appreciate the fine details of an experience, Dalia and Giuseppe were very involved in the planning process of the wedding and the events leading up to the wedding (along with their wedding planner). They knew the exact type of wedding and events they wanted to host all the way from the type of food served during the first event to the favors for guests on the wedding day. They wanted to give their guests experiences highlighting Puglia’s beauty but also staying true to the couple’s taste for intimate and elegant, yet down to earth and fun events.

On their special day, the bride got ready with her mother and sisters while the groom’s best friends were with him preparing for the wedding. The bride chose a simple yet elegant gown fitted in form, lined in delicate lace with an open back. She also wore a long veil with lace trimmings trailing behind the train of her dress. For her bouquet she chose the same flowers as were on the tables at the wedding. They consisted of white English roses and a few delicate regular cream roses.

The couple began the non-traditional wedding with their first dance to a special edition of Coldplay’s A Sky Full of Stars (specially made for them by a friend) in the background. The intimate 90 person wedding included a five course sit down dinner served in the courtyard of the Masseria among the tea lights lining the top. To go with their country chic theme, a delicate olive leaf decorated each napkin to accompany the weddings favors which were olive oil soaps produced locally, wrapped in paper and sealed with string. During the dinner, a band played classics such as Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon during the dinner. After some dancing and the cake cutting, the couple and guests moved to an area by the swimming pool for the after party, There, they continued to dance the night away until 3:00 am.
