Classic Wedding in Chicago Botanic Gardens

We all love a classic wedding – the perfect lace gown, black tuxes, white roses, something blue, something borrowed, and something new – and this botanic gardens wedding is exactly that. These college sweethearts wanted their big day to be timeless, and thanks to Jenna Marie Photography, the photos will never go out of style. With the touching ceremony at a beautiful church, Chicago Botanical Gardens was the perfect place for this elegant reception and party. Chic outdoor furniture, wooden dining chairs, pink and white florals, and stunning lush greenery created the perfect place to celebrate the newlyweds. Scroll to feel the love for yourself…

Hear more from the gorgeous bride about her wedding day…

Tom and I first met in the dorms freshman year at the University of Colorado Boulder. Love at first site is an understatement – with shaven legs and short hair, I was still trying to figure this guy out! However, I soon realized that this college triathlete was actually quite the catch. We dated all through college. After graduation, I stayed in Denver while Tom headed back to the Windy City where he began his medical school degree. Distance was hard, but so worth the wait! We were engaged after his first year of medical school in beautiful Banff, Canada. I would have never imagined saying yes in a canoe with the most gorgeous backdrop on Moraine Lake. Life could not get any better!

Since we both have similar styles, it was so easy working together to come up with the vision for our dream wedding. We wanted something classy, elegant, and tasteful. The Chicago Botanic Gardens met our criteria and had an underlying family meaning that truly made it special – it was a tribute to my 102-year-old great grandma who had a green thumb and a love for roses. What better place to celebrate her life and the life of our new family than at the gardens!

My favorite moment was listening to the speeches during the reception. It’s the moment where I laughed the most, cried the most, reminisced on old stories, and laughed some more! It was the highlight of the evening and the pictures captured the moment the best.

The day was truly a dream thanks to everyone who helped make it all happen. Bianca from Estera Events was very organized and calm the day of, which helped to make the day run smoothly. Life in Bloom was able to make my wedding vision truly come to life! Everything from the florals to the table settings to the décor details was just perfect. And of course, our photographer, who we loved dearly, captured all our favorite moments and was so wonderful to work with. We could not have imagined a better day!
