Alma Mater Engagement Shoot in San Luis Obispo

I love this ADORABLE Alma Mater engagement shoot sent to us by Sarah Kathleen Photography and styled by Lemonade Design Co.! Aaron and Lorraine are a super cute couple who are college sweethearts. Their shoot took place at the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo campus and then they moved on to the beach to catch the perfect sunset! They are so cute and in love and I am DYING over Lorraine’s bicycle shirt! Here’s what Sarah Kathleen had to say about photographing them and their amazing engagement story!

“Aaron and Lorraine blew me away with their cuteness. I was so excited to photograph them in places that are very near and dear to their hearts. We started the session roaming around the Cal Poly campus, which is where Aaron and Lorraine met as students. After graduating (in 2008 and 2009), they moved to opposite ends of the state – Aaron works up in San Jose and Lorraine works down in LA. But it was going to take much more than distance to keep their hearts apart. After 6 years of dating, Aaron decided it was time to pop the question. So… Aaron had a friend of Lorraine’s bring her to town, but not before stopping at a cafe in Pismo Beach for a “potty break”. Upon arrival at the cafe, the barista handed carefully wrapped box. Inside was a beautiful seafoam green gown and a letter telling her to put the dress on and head to Avila Beach. When she got there, she found Aaron dressed to the hilt at the end of an aisle of illuminated tiki torches. There were a few sweet works spoken before he dropped the knee and popped the question. Since we started the session where their relationship began, it seemed only right to end the session where their engagement began. So we snapped a few photos in the golden sunset light at Avila Beach and relived all sorts of memories that have made them who they are today.”

  1. Hi ladies!! SO Lorraine found her shirt at Urban Outfitters if I remember correctly. I do know she said that they didn’t have it online but she found it in the store 🙂 Hope this helps!

  2. As soon as I saw that first shot, I immediately went, “Isn’t that a Cal Poly classroom?” without reading a word of text or seeing the campus itself. I think I spent way too much time nerding out in class! lol. Obviously, I LOVE this shoot 🙂
