First, I have to admit I am a full-on 100% photo geek. I honestly never imagined I could achieve my dream to be a photo editor. I still count my lucky stars that I was ever hired by The Knot, and the surprise of how much I love my job truly inspires me every day! So I’d like to take a step back and recognize the hundreds (thousands?) of photographers I’ve been working with since 2004. My job fully relies on the submissions we receive at The Knot and I’m so grateful for the talent that is contributed to our brand.

It wasn’t very long ago that wedding photographers were completely disregarded as a force in the photo world. There’s been a gigantic grassroots effort of smart business owners coming together raising awareness of wedding photography. Clever use of search engine optimization information, blogging, social media, and powerful branding works. I love seeing commercial photographers and other photo agencies taking interest, and it’s incredibly humbling to watch it all happen.  I applaud the efforts of these extremely savvy and talented photographers for raising the bar!

The blogosphere was a very friendly place for Be Inspired PR clients the last two weeks!  Alisa Benay and the girls from Lollipop Events and Design were featured on Style Me Pretty for the shoot they did with Jessica Claire. The Bella girls were featured on the Knot for the adorable favor that they helped create with their clients and a bridal shower designed by The Special Day was featured on the fabulous Hostess with the Mostess. She is one of the best luxury event producers in the wedding business.  She is a great mom, boss, and is respected by all who know her. She awes wedding magazines and television producers time and time again. Do you know her? You will now.. SHE is none other than my client Jodi Bos of In any Event in Grand Rapids, MI. Educated in Public Relations, and working in corporate event planning for almost a decade, Jodi nailed the art of planning and wooing people.  After a break to stay at home with her family, Jodi opened In any Event and is now getting ready to launch a couture letterpress division of her company.

I love Jodi’s sense of style and design. From the day her client books her, she begins to help them tell their story. She makes their picturesque tale come to life by meticulously designing every detail and exceeding the expectations of both her clients and the vendors she works with. On top of that she is the kindest most honest person and an amazing mother, constantly walking the tight rope of balancing family and career, yet she does so with grace. Jodi is humble, respectful and appreciative of everyone she works with. After having the pleasure of calling her my client I want unlimited good things for her  and I am honored to partner with her brand!

When asked what inspires her, Jodi said, “I’m inspired by so many things that it’s hard to narrow the list to just a few. I keep close tabs on what’s happening in the world of fashion and home design. I can’t tell you how many magazines I subscribe to. It borders on ridiculous! I’m also inspired by my creative friends, namely my trusted florist, Jennifer of Modern Day Floral. Her eye for floral design blows me away and she never tells me my ideas are too crazy. Probably because her ideas are equally as crazy! And of course, I’m inspired by my faith and my family and the pride that they all share in the success of my business. I don’t know where I’d be without their love and support.”
