Bold brides are some of our favorite brides! Tights, bright lips, rainbows and colored dresses… love it all! Today we love graphic patterns, whether it’s polka dots, stripes, tie dye or flowers, you can never go wrong with a bold graphic pattern! It brings out a fun and vibrant touch to the wedding. We love it on grooms, bridesmaids, stationery, shoes and desserts… the possibilities are endless!

Ahoy! There’s just something about a nautical wedding that instantly draws me in, especially when it’s done right! One of my dear college friends Michelle just got engaged at a lighthouse a few weeks ago and has set a date for July next year up in Tiburon, CA. I envision her wedding to be inspired by this one!!
I’ve been obsessed with this wedding ever since I had the opportunity to submit it to The Knot Southern California last year, and its currently on newsstands now! What I love most about this nautical Hampton and Cape Cod inspired wedding style style is how classic and not to overly done with the starfish, sand, and obvious sea inspired elements!
The wedding was held at the bride’s family vacation home on Balboa Island in Newport Beach, which they have owned for over a century, so much history there! With a dream team of Joyful Weddings and Events, JL Designs, Meg Perotti, and Sweet and Saucy Shop this wedding was exquisitely brought to life!!

Each bridesmaid carried a different green theme flower in a celery or lime tone. The maid of honor had a combination of the different florals

Ring bearers held a grapewood log accented with white peonies in lieu of a standard pillow

The cocktail hour was made up of wood lounge furniture and all white florals in glass footed vases, double tulips, ranunculas and sweet peas

The bride had just finished school to be a licensed sommelier so their favors were custom bottles of wine!

style file: cape cod, hamptons, martha’s vineyard style with a slight nautical feel
color scheme: tan, beige, white, cream, celery, royal blue
elements: grapewood branches, natural khaki linens, wood lounge furniture, dingy boat, sailing trophies, white lanterns
florals: hydrangea, vibernum, ranunculas, garden roses, tulips, peonies, cala lilies, scabiosa, lilac, sweet peas
(as listed on JL Designs blog)
