DIY Wedding | Inspired by This Blog

I received an email a while back of a beautiful wedding shot by Christi Nelson of Rawsii Photography. Josiah and Danielle were recently married in Fort Meyers, Florida and are the selfless founders of a non-profit organization called Sonnyvilla. The pair are both in full time ministry, which doesn’t afford for a lavish wedding. The focus of their wedding is the beautiful scenery and bride and groom . I love the soft color of the bridesmaids dresses and how they compliment the scenic views of the ocean. More than the images, I love the story of how it came to be that they booked their photographer. The story is full of details that have to be more than coincidence. As of late I have become a fan of Paula Luna‘s work. She is a great photographer based in San Diego and we just collaborated on a Bride and Bloom table scape designed by and featuring the work Courtney Toney of Joyful Weddings and Events. Stay tuned for the next issue of Bride and Bloom to see it. In the meantime: Get a load of this AMAZING wedding below! When I saw it I exclaimed to Brittany, “I have to have it!” and Paula was thrilled to share it.

The weddings was in Vermont at Ohana Camp and was all DIY. She did the flowers herself and her friend made her dress. No planner involved here, but the work the couple put into all the details just warms my heart. It was crafty, yet elegant. I’m always a big promoter that a planner should be involved at some point of the wedding planning processes, but I will say Sarah did a terrific job doing it herself. I’m impressed and so delighted to feature the wedding today! Thanks for capturing a lovely wedding Paula. Everything looked beautiful!
