Kids Thanksgiving Activity

Turkey day is less than a week away! So we’re bringing you a special kids Thanksgiving activity for the holiday on our blog today. This little DIY from STAY + Co combines the fun of coloring with the meaning of the Thanksgiving.. and keeps the kiddos occupied-what more could you want? Megan + Kaille of STAY + Co set up this festive kids table and made these place mats, and it’s too adorable and easy not to do! Download the print out they used here!
Thanksgiving is one of our favorite holidays as we try to teach our kids gratitude and to help them appreciate the things that they have been given, if even in a small way. This activity is meant to be one done at the kids table on Thanksgiving to get the kids thinking about what they love and are thankful for. As moms we all know that meal prep time is the hardest part of the day and Thanksgiving prep is an all day thing! We’ve got to keep those kiddos occupied – with their siblings, cousins, friends, etc.

We love the idea of covering the kids table with paper and writing their names so they know where to sit. Kids love the simple things like this, right? And then they can color on it however they would like – totally keeps them occupied! We got our paper roll at Ikea. To add a little Thanksgiving glam, we found the gold glitter wrapping paper and cut it as a place mat. You can find it at most craft stores during the holidays. We created this simple “This Turkey is Thankful For” print out for them to trace their hand and draw their turkey as well as think of 3 things they are grateful for and write them down.

We thought this would be a fun tradition for our families to do every year. I want to grab a folder and keep them all together so we could look back at their growth, life changes and have memories of what our kids were doing throughout the years. We hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving!
