We love that the baby blog is full of unique baby showers these days! Alexis of The Shift Creative came up with a fun polka dot and pastel theme for this growing family that we’re absolutely in love with! From the hanging, hand dyed ropes to the giant balloons and Studio Mucci tassels, we couldn’t be more in love!
From the mom-to-be:
When I started envisioning my baby shower I knew three things for sure, mint had to be a part of my color palette, tassels were a must, and I wanted Alexis at The Shift Creative to put her magical touch on it. When Alexis and I started brainstorming, we both agreed that the mint and peach color palette had become pretty popular, so we set out to add some colors and details that would make it fresh.
We decided to add a blush pink and a darker pink and then chose a few fun DIY projects to bring the color palette to life. The pom pom garland, painted birch cutlery, and the painted terra cotta pots were lovely ways to add color and sweet details without breaking the budget. Beautiful florals were also a key part of our centerpiece design, so we ventured out to the Los Angeles Flower Market to spend as much as we could on peonies and anything else that caught our eye and spent the better part of the day trimming and arranging. Alexis had the brilliant idea of adding the potted succulents with the two vases of flowers and I could not have been happier about the result. Lastly, no party is complete without a photo backdrop for all the instagram photo-ops, so Alexis graciously designed and made one of her rad rope hangings just for the occasion. The best part? It now hangs beautifully in my nursery.
