From Maternity to Nursery: Welcoming Baby Colter

Erica and her husband Deven celebrated their 5-year anniversary just one month before they welcomed their first baby boy into the world.  They have made a tradition of having professional photos done around their anniversary each year – and this year they had even more to celebrate! As film photographer themselves (Acres of Hope Photography), they were so grateful that the Grovers could document this time in their lives on film to be able to cherish forever. They both love nature and the outdoors and dream of having a gigantic oak tree on their property someday.  So they met up with Troy and Aimee the day of the shoot and fell in love with the location they took them to.

Fast forward one month and they welcomed their sweet little boy Colter into their lives.  Colter was born at home on November 16th, weighing 9 lbs and measuring 21 inches long.  Colter’s nursery is extra special to Erica because all of the furniture was her baby furniture!  It was all purchased over 28 years ago by her parents and used for her, her sister and brother. They saved it all this time in the attic of their childhood home and now they get to use it for their son! The two pieces of art are by Kelli Murray, drapes and lamps are from Ikea and the wall color is Behr’s Chocolate Froth.  The organic crib bumper and skirt are from Restoration Hardware and is the perfect pop of color in an otherwise mostly neutral nursery.  Colt’s room is so peaceful with it’s soft colors and tons of natural light – it seems like the perfect place to spend countless hours taking care of and loving on him!
