Tribal Kenyan Themed Maternity Session

We’ve taken you to Portugal and England in some of our home tours, and today we’re taking you to Africa!! Well, sort of 🙂 Esther decided to incorporate her Kenyan roots in this maternity session captured by Alicia Gines and we are loving it! Even though Esther and her husband, Daniel, weren’t physically in Africa for this session, it’s so cool how they really made this local park their own.

While you won’t see any lions or zebras in the background, you’ll definitely get a little taste of the African culture. This mama-to-be is even wearing a traditional Kenyan outfit to highlight her baby bump, which is called a “Kanga,” and she paired it with some gorgeous Kenya-inspired jewelry!

Be Prepared to Be Inspired…

Alicia: The best way to show off any culture or a part of the world is in the color and textures.  We did Esther’s maternity session at the end of summer, more into the fall, so the colors of the skies and trees played up the “Kenya” theme wonderfully!

Traditional Kenyan Kangas!

…and after! The newest addition to the Njenga family!

Cute as a button!
