Beautiful Dusty Rose Baby Shower

Gold, velvet, and glowing parents to-be – what’s not to love about this dusty rose baby shower?! We would expect nothing less for photographers Brandon & Kristin Kidd’s first baby. The surprise shower is full of beautiful and meaningful details like baby girl’s name ‘Mila Grace’ on a floral photo booth wall, and bud vases filled with florals by the mama to-be’s hubby himself. Read on for Brandon’s description of the day and all the beautiful photos. You’re going to love everything about it!

The shower was all a surprise to Kristin so she wasn’t really aware of anything ahead of time, which made the surprise really rewarding to witness. Kristin and I had struggled with infertility for years and having a family of our own was one of our greatest desires. Throughout the years of heartache and longing, Kristin has hosted and thrown countless baby showers and children’s birthday parties at our home for others with a joyful and giving heart. I wanted to make this shower extra special for her because she has gone through so much to get to this point and I am so proud of her.

I brought in our closest friends and family to help put this together including Kristin’s sisters Kimi and Alyssa. Kristin’s older sister Kimi from Heart and Hand Lettering created all the ‘grace’ cards, which were the favors for guests to take. Not only was grace something we needed to be reminded of and practiced regularly throughout the infertility journey but also we focused on versus like 2 Corinthians 12:9 which says “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” as our daily reminder and truth to live by. This is why we thought it would make it a fitting middle name for a little babe.

My cousin Jennifer from Cherished Rentals provided all the silverware, glassware and flatware. I attempted to do all the florals by going to the wholesale flower market along with the help of my cousin. Our dearest friends Jasmine and Jd hosted the shower in the backyard of their home in Newport Beach.  Other friends and family provided all the food and desserts like creme brûlée from Elise cakes and lemon bars from Susie’s cakes. The Mila Grace wood cut out was provided by Poppyjack shop. Chairs were from Signature and linens were from La Tavola provided by our sweet friend Nancy from So Happi Together.
