Inspired by This New Family of Four at Home

With tons of friends (and now Leila!) having babies recently, we’ve learned that there’s nothing crazier than trying to keep track of little ones while you’re out and about. That’s why we love this sweet newborn and family session that was taken in the comfort of their own home! Bringing home a new baby is a transition in itself but having another young sibling to worry about as well is a whole separate challenge. We love the way these photos capture the new siblings’ love for each other as well as their parents’ genuine adoration for their growing little family. Not to mention…how cute is that mama in her knee high socks and floral skirt!? She looks amazing!

Inspired by This Fashionable Nautical Engagement

One of our favorite things here at Inspired by This (besides weddings, of course) is fashion! We even have Saturday Style Inspiration on our Instagram and a Daily Fashion board we are always pinning to. We love trying to keep up with the latest trends and trying out everything from mixed prints to bold, statement necklaces! That’s mainly why we fell in love with this super cute engagement session by Laura Ivanova…this girl’s got style! Her first look, a strapless, blush dress with fun silver accents would be perfect for a rehearsal dinner or night out on the town. And that second outfit…you would definitely see one of us wearing something like that to the office or meeting a friend for coffee on the weekend. Her polka dot scarf, tan blazer, and cute lace-up ankle boots are the epitome of casual chic and perfect for the cooler weather. Let’s not forget about her man though…a plaid button up is always a good choice!

We all love a house full of neutrals and classic pieces but there’s something so special and fun about someone who takes that chance and uses bold colors! This house, styled by the talented Ana Antunes, is the perfect example of just that. All the teal, pink, and lime green work together to create a beautiful, upbeat modern home. We love all the mixes of patterns and the wallpapered accent walls with the crisp white tables and chairs. She even incorporated a chic pink counter top in the kitchen! If you’re too nervous to go for a whole house of bright colors, this house is great inspiration for a kids bedroom or playroom too!

The simple, modern white furniture balances out the bold decor perfectly!

We love the idea of wallpapering a hallway to be different that the main room! It’s a great way to make the space feel purposeful and put together.

Those counter-tops!! Love that the steel and ceramic appliances compliment it so perfectly.

Stripes in different colors is so fun and helps both the wall and chair stand out!

The white paint and linens on the bunk beds make them so modern and clean looking!

We love neutrals over here at Inspired by This so this family session by Eric Kelley definitely caught our eye! This gorgeous mama-to-be has amazing style not to mention her kids’ cool outfits from Petit Bebe that would be cute at any age! Combining a maternity session with a family session is a great way to make the other kids feel like a part of the pregnancy and still important as their family expands. Especially after the craziness of bringing a new baby home, it would be so special to look back on these images and remember these last moments as a mom of two. The soft lighting and organic colors definitely make this one of our favorite family shoots yet!

Inspired by Ashley’s Vintage Peach Wedding

It’s been almost two years since Ashley got married in a gorgeous outdoor ceremony in Malibu, CA but we could not be more excited to finally share it with all of you! We shared with you her love shoot with Jose Villa and her fields of gold engagement shoot with This Modern Romance, her garden themed bridal shower and now, finally…the wedding!! We brought together a dream team of vendors to pull off this amazing day and they definitely did not disappoint. After lots of inspiration boards, Ashley decided on a a color palette of soft peaches with coral and ivory touches. It looked perfect with the big oak trees and grass fields as the natural backdrop. Ashley was the most gorgeous bride in her stunning fit and flare dress, pearls, and fun, over-sized flower hair piece. I’m sure we’ll be looking to her wedding for inspiration for many years to come!

Could you just die for Ashley’s amazing bouquet by JL Designs!? Gorgeous mix of peonies, ranunculus, juliet roses, parrot tulips, mint and green bunny tail!

Pitbulls & Posies designed all the simple and classic stationery and Cherish Paperie printed everything. Love those killer die cut table numbers!

They had a “Love Note” station where guests could write notes and stick them in envelopes that were attached to a free-standing wall. The envelopes were then mailed to them so they could enjoy the notes from their guests at home!

Tyman surprised everyone by walking down the aisle to the “Rocky” theme song in a vintage, red boxing robe with his “entourage” surrounding him and holding a “Tyman T-Bone Stephens” banner. They followed it up with a little dance to the Two & a Half Men theme song!

Fun fact: Ashley used Leila’s blusher veil as her “something borrowed”!

Everyone was given an envelope of random letters that they could play on a life size Scrabble board!

Jesi Haack found these amazing crocheted doilies and created the perfect backdrop for Ashley’s delicious dessert table. Cupcakes Couture’s mini desserts were a huge hit too!

Ashley and Tyman chose “Fields of Gold” as their first dance song. They flew their musician friend Heather Bond out from Nashville to perform it live.

Inspired by This Timeless Outdoor Engagement

We’re pretty sure that it doesn’t get better than a sparkly dress, an even more sparkly engagement ring, and Caroline Tran shooting your engagement session! This couple was lucky enough to shoot with one of our favorite photographers in a beyond gorgeous rustic setting complete with giant oak trees. We’re obsessing over both her purple and glitter dresses but I’m pretty sure this girl could pull off a burlap sack!

The bride-to-be gave us a little glimpse into the day they met…

“It was July 10th, 2010. There was a local standup paddle boarding race that day…he was participating and I was in attendance with my family as a spectator. It was an early day on the beach, starting at 7 am. After the race, there was an awards banquet at a nearby restaurant. During lunch, he came over to say hello and introduce himself. We talked and talked, and then afternoon turned into evening and we went inside and talked and talked until midnight. That night, one of my Aunts said…”I just met my future nephew”. Our first official date was the next day; lunch and a margarita at my favorite Mexican spot and, of course, sitting on the beach watching the sunset. It’s been true love since day one!”
