One of our favorite places to find inspiration is from the media and movies that are popular at the moment. With Gatsby fever still all around, we really loved this retro glam styled shoot sent our way by LVL Weddings & Events! With mixed black and white patterns, retro hair and makeup, and glam emerald jewel details, we’re sure that brides will be excited to take bits and pieces to make their own. The gold touches throughout the dessert bar and cocktail area are the perfect dash of glitz with the retro vibe.

The table settings are another one of our favorite elements. The geometrical dinnerware and personalized ferns acting as place cards are super cute and something that we haven’t seen much of! Unique table settings are such a great way to add that extra personal touch for your guests. A special thanks to BrittRene Photo for all the gorgeous images!

One of our favorite things that Caroline Tran does is something called Baby’s First Year. It’s a package where you get images of your baby as a newborn, at six months old, and then again on their one year birthday. It’s such a great way to capture all the extreme changes happening in your baby’s life during it’s first year here! You might remember this cute little face from his newborn shoot that we featured on IBT back in December. Now he’s already six months old and the squirmiest, cutest little guy around! We love the laid back vibe of this session and the simplicity of the bedroom setting. Seems like just another weekend hanging out and watching their little boy explore and grow!

What do you do when your cute little kiddo comes to you and tells you that they want a cartoon themed birthday party? Do you get overwhelmed at the thought of characters taking over your house or do you think like Jesi Haack and turn it into the best darn cartoon party this world has ever seen!? We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw what Jesi created for Birthday Express with the Yo Gabba Gabba theme. Everything is super cute and themed but with the perfect homemade, DIY hints like the burlap table linens and the pom ribbon runner. And don’t forget to check out the dessert table…we’re dying over the “DJ Lance microphones” and the Muno licorice!

Inspired by This Central Park Proposal

A proposal is a moment that many treasure forever but most brides would tell you they to be honest, they barely remember! That’s exactly why we love when the guys decide to bring a photographer along for the ride. These are images, much like your wedding day, that you will cherish and look back on with such joy.

Blaine and Amber met in the small town of Fort Mill in South Carolina. Small town living sparked a love of travel for these two. After good friends of theirs moved away to New York, Amber and Blaine wasted no time making travel plans to visit the big city. In planning their trip Blaine conspired with his friends as to how he would propose to Amber while in New York. They had been together three and a half years and he wanted this trip to be a memorable one. It wasn’t until the day they arrived he decided that Central Park would be the perfect location. With their friends as their tour guides they rode into the city and began to walk the beautiful sun filled streets of the upper west side.

After they enjoyed a classic New York lunch they strolled towards Central Park to execute his plan. Blaine then disappeared into the crowd. Without Amber noticing he walked over to a guitarist and asked him to play something lovely. It was then when Blaine popped out of the crowd unto the steps of Bethesda Fountain to get the crowds attention. At the top of his lungs he professed his love and affection for Amber. With beautiful white roses in hand he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Tears streaming down her face she said, YES!

Inspired by This Tropical Summer Wedding Shoot

When we started brainstorming for this shoot for Rue Magazine, we knew we wanted to create an event that captured the essence of summer. Gather Events created a design that was rich with lush florals and a playful yet elegant color palette that made our vision come to life! We decided that the Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica would be the perfect setting with its pool deck brimming with tropical greenery and hints of an exotic vacation. One of our favorite trends happening right now is the hot pink and purple pops of Bougainvillea and Jacaranda so we had Aly Morford from The Vine’s Leaf create a showstopping ceremony altar overflowing with both. The intimate ceremony space was filled with earthy wooden and glass vessels and woven baskets from Found Rentals while the vintage wire chairs were accented with tropical fanning leaves to add a pop of greenery. Vibrant floral rugs and ikat patterned pillows from Lulu and Georgia were offset by lovely vintage furniture pieces throughout. Gather described the romantic lounge cabana set off to the side as a “respite from the summer sun and a perfect nook for the love birds to sneak in a kiss”. Moving to the reception, the focus of the dinner table was an overgrown floral centerpiece conveying summer’s freshness and abundance complete with real grapefruit accents! On the menu, the food and drinks are as colorful and refreshing as the florals, with an added hint of Mediterranean spice. Contemporary Catering created a delicious assortment with everything from a honey glazed laughing bird shrimp as the amuse bouche to a Lavender Berry Sparkler specialty cocktail with One Hope Wedding’s Sparkling Wine. The paper goods, by Wiley Valentine, incorporated the ikat print to tie everything together as well as a dip-dyed napkin with the menu printed directly on to serve as a keepsake for guests. Gather Event’s advice for a summer wedding? “Create a relaxed, carefree vibe to keep your guests comfortable, incorporate a seasonal menu to keep things fresh and delicious, and add a healthy dose of eye-popping hues to keep it lively. Turn up the color, it’s time for summer!”

If you’ve ever thrown a bridal shower then you will have some serious hosting envy from today’s post! When Laura Hooper’s sister got engaged, she was ready with friend and event planner extraordinary Beth Helmstetter to create the perfect day for her. We love the extra girly theme with soft pinks and classic ivories with the gorgeous flowers and fun ribbons. Not to mention the food!! Anyone else want to dive in and enjoy those scones and ice cream sandwiches with us!? They look delicious! And of course we can’t forget all of Laura’s stunning hand written calligraphy accents…must be nice to have a sister with a talent like that!

Today’s cute family shoot takes place at Lake Tahoe, one of the most gorgeous spots in all of California! All four of them hiked up to Zephyr Cove (along with their adorable little bulldog, Daisy) to the perfect spot where they could run around and have some fun with the kids. We love the colorful streamers and bubbles Kayla O’Rourke incorporated into the shoot and of course the images by Acres of Hope Photography look amazing! When your sister is the stylist, you know you’re going to get an extra cute session!
