Embracing the Season of Giving

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Capital One for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

With all the Christmas shopping and holiday parties happening during the holidays it’s easy to get wrapped up- and let’s face it – a little stressed- with all the things to do and places to be. We’re keeping our perspective in check on our lifestyle blog today with all the ways we like to spread the love and cheer in the season of giving! And it just so happens some of our favorite ways to give to those around us is by throwing holiday parties and finding the perfect gifts for them! We’re firm believers that hospitality is one of the most generous gifts you can give. Not much tops a warm welcome and delicious holiday meal! Blame it on our party-panning fancy, but we enjoy every little detail from setting the table (with lots of arbitrary but pretty elements – cue the pine cones, tinsel, garland, pomegranates, candles – you get the point :),  creating fun new recipes, and yes even doing the dishes.

A few weeks ago, we shared our  holiday wishinspired by Capital One’s Wish For Others campaign expressing our desire for people to experience the warmth and love (and fullness) of a holiday meal with family and friends.Watch our video here! It’s been inspiring to follow along on Twitter and Capital One’s Facebook page with others’ videos (the kid’s wishes will melt your heart!) and know that they will grant one of these wishes! (Pssst.. you can still enter!) We think this has been a pretty cool way to see how people celebrate the season and give in unique and thoughtful ways.

Embracing the Season of Giving

So, as we prepare to entertain and to give in the best way we know how, we encourage you to make the most of the season by taking joy in the moments you get to give to others! Whether it’s cooking for your family, making blankets for the homeless, finding the perfect personalized gift for a friend, bringing toys to orphanages, or buying the guy’s coffee in line behind you, don’t miss all the opportunities out there in this season of giving and make a #WishForOthers!
