Mid-Century Boho Bungalow Tour

We love getting to take a peek into homes on our lifestyle blog and get a glimpse into people’s lives and style! Today’s boho home tour is a real treat – showing us how to decorate, diy, and commemorate life’s big moments in our house! Thanks to Alexandra Wallace Photography we get to peruse this newlywed bungalow and poke the owner’s brain about her interior design!

Jenieva and Tyler tied the knot last year, and their love nest is a truly exceptional example of how a small space can be used to the fullest. Maintaining a perfect balance between crisp, minimal aesthetic and Free People-inspired style, their home is filled with personalized mementos such as wedding photos [taken by Southern California’s Katie Pritchard!], and monogrammed trinkets. Dreamcatchers on a branch are the focal point of the living room, hung over a velvet blue sofa that strikes a gorgeous pop of color!

How would you describe your design style?
My design style is very eclectic! I like bits and pieces from lots of different styles, from mid century modern to south western bohemian, and I try to blend it all into my own personal aesthetic.

Where is your favorite spot to unwind at home?
My favorite spot to unwind is definitely the bedroom. It’s so cozy, and I love being surrounded by books. It’s my place to relax and get away from the world for a while.

Your home has so many beautiful eclectic pieces! Where did your have the best luck finding decor and furniture?
I found a lot of my decor and furniture at estate sales. You can get some amazing stuff for great prices if you know how to haggle! And of course Urban Outfitters.

Did you take on any projects to make it look how it looks today?
We took out the old carpet, put in wood floors, painted everything white, and added some bead board in the kitchen. We also built our coffee table and dining table and the open shelving in the kitchen and dining room. It was a labor of love.

What do you love most about your home and location?
The thing I love most about our home is that it really feels like an extension of my husband and I. You can see both of our personalities in it. And I love the location because we are close to everything! Drive two hours south and you’re in LA. Drive two hours north and you are in Big Sur. It’s great for day trips!
