We love Valentine’s Day over here at Be Inspired! Love is obviously a huge part of the wedding industry so celebrating a holiday that’s centered around it is my fave! And of course any excuse to eat chocolate makes it is even better! Colored tights!  I always want to pull out a fun dress for date night, especially on Valentine’s Day and the colder night weather gives me a great excuse to add some great colored tights like these ones from Plan Your Beautiful Event!

I LOVE this shoot! You may have seen it on Green Wedding Shoes earlier this week but between the beauty and that it was created by us and some amazing Pennsylvania vendors , I just had to share it with my readers as well! The shoot comes across very clean and organic (two of my favorite traits) but also includes bright pops of color that is warm and inviting. We worked with  Kristy Rice, of Momental Designs on this project and she truly created a modern, sophisticated setting. She described the shoot saying, “The Trellis pattern has the unique ability to transcend paper and inspire well beyond correspondence. To show Trellis’ true design impact and versatility,  I envisioned it in a lifestyle space where walls are covered, chairs are upholstered and pillows are stuffed.” The new collection of Envelopments patterns created exclusively from hand painted elements by Kristy are stunning and flow throughout the shoot. The models used in the shoot were each dressed in Desla Couture gowns with custom belts encrusted with rhinestone detailing that are to die for!  Those colors are insanely fabulous, right?! The three cakes were all made in collaboration with Truly Scrumptious and that cute Ring Bearer Bowl® is a little sneak peak into a future project with another one of my favorites, Paloma’s Nest!

I absolutely LOVE Palm Springs! I love how modern the architecture is and the lush palm trees within the desert landscape make for incredible scenery! Even in the middle of winter, it’s an ideal location to have an outdoor ceremony with it’s sunny blue skies and warm temperatures. It’s home to a bunch of incredible venues including the ACE Hotel , The Viceroy, and Miramonte Resort that have hosted some of my favorite weddings over the years. Palm Springs might seem like one giant, hot, desert but the city is a perfect place to get married! Take a look below to see why!

I LOVE ruffles! They add a touch of fun to anything that they’re attached to – dresses, flowers, invitations, cake. They’re the perfect accent for a simple bride that’s looking for a little something extra, or for the girly bride who enjoys a good frill!  I love that some flowers, like peonies, garden tulips and ranunculus, are naturally ruffled themselves! There’s nothing better than a hearty and textured bouquet! I know guys typically aren’t the biggest fans of ruffles (at least my husband isn’t!), but when done subtly and minimally ruffles just add a little extra bit of interest – a ruffled cake or a ruffled invite adds some fun detail!  I LOVE rehearsal dinners, they’re one of the last chances couples have to spend with their families before the big day. It’s the perfect time to take a moment to laugh, eat and reminisce with the people that you love the most. This gorgeous rehearsal dinner was sent to us by Ivy Robinson and is full of deep navy and bright oranges (pantone color of the year! Tangerine Tango!). Lace has been around since before the 13th century and has been a staple in the wedding industry for as long as I can remember. It is the essence of timelessness, femininity and is extremely classic! Lace can make something simple look expensive and extravagant. It is also used to add a modern flare in fashion and design. As far as weddings go, lace is no longer limited to the bridal garb, you will now see it adorning bouquets, vases, candles and even see it as a pattern on the cake and stationery. When Kate Middleton stepped out of that car in that lace Alexander McQueen gown the world was in awe at how beautiful she looked. I LOVE Lace!!

You’ve seen our obsession for glittering gold, now it’s time to show our appreciation for its metallic counterpart.. silver! Silver is sleek and classy, and of course looks great with a diamond ; ) I love when it’s accented with bright fun colors, like pink but I also enjoy when it’s kept with other neutrals – white, ivory and even burlap. But one of my faves is when Carissa of JL Designs spray paints succulents silver, it’s STUNNING! I LOVE winter!  I love being cozy and warm by the fire and wearing knits and boots… Love love love!  We were sent this winter inspiration shoot and I died over all the amazing winter inspiration.  From the chevron mittens, to the greige flowers and the red church…all of it!  Here is what the designer Alisa Lewis of The Attic  had to say about this winter wonderland shoot:

Our single-word inspiration for this winter photo shoot was “cozy”. It gets very cold and snowy here in the Northwest so we wanted to create awarmand cozy setting for a wedding. We decided on the soft winter tones of warm blues, creams, and grays, with a touch of gold to keep the feel natural and the atmosphere inviting.

The focal points of our inspiration all have some sort of cozy to tie in the warm theme. We draped the bride in a big sweater and scarf and rich fox shrugs. And we definitely can’t forget those fabulous chevron knitted mittens warming the tips of her fingers.
The flower jars and vases and cappuccino mugs are enveloped in yarn to keep them warm. We did a few shots with the chairs wrapped in lush velvety cream fabric adorned with snow-tipped pinecones (a DIY project from Ali). The miniature fir tree seedling guest favors are cozied up in burlap-wrap with lace and twine.

We chose a venue with a frozen and snowy pond for the backdrop of this wedding inpirational shoot. We also incorporated local designers and bridal gown shops to put the perfect look together. The scarf was hand made by a local etsy seller. The sweater and headpiece were also hand made by a local artisan.

We LOVE gold weddings! Gold is timeless, elegant and will go with anything and is one of the most diverse colors. I love that gold can be sparkly or dull, casual or elegant. Gold is also one of  the most easiest way to add a little luxe to any event. Just add a touch of gold and your fete is an amazing sensation. Whether it’s sequins, shoes or metallic… we love gold!   Take a look at some of our favorite gold elements in weddings.
